Usability testing identify that users faced significant challenges with the baseline experience, which felt clunky and outdated. As a result, many potential users turned to competitors that offered more modern interactions and additional features. Yet, the question remained if that was the only issue.
Usability testing identify that users faced significant challenges with the baseline experience, which felt clunky and outdated. As a result, many potential users turned to competitors that offered more modern interactions and additional features. Yet, the question remained if that was the only issue.
New, vibrant resume templates were introduced to reflect the website's updated direction. Although many users initially choose these eye-catching designs, research indicates that they often revert to more understated templates in the end.

Develop a new resume letter builder that looked modern and packed with many features.
After reviewing competitor resume builders, we identified features that MyPerfectResume lacks and those that could be improved. The large preview would be the focus for the new designs as it was voted the most popular feature to have among users.

Feedback indicating that the builder appeared outdated prompted us to revamp the website for a more contemporary look.

This experience underscored the need to go beyond user testing, as there's a notable difference between testers and actual customers. It also highlighted the necessity for further testing on the final product, given the gap between wireframes and the finished versions.
Rather than scrapping the project, we implemented smaller optimization initiatives to assess each new feature against the baseline. Many features succeeded and contributed positively with 3-5% increased with these new implementation. The same project underwent rebranding for international users, leading to a 35% improvement.
